THE FEET

We are only talking about the feet that we use most frequently and which, in our experience, have held our interest for their benefits.

The standard feet

Two feet of the most basic feet for moderate use.

The articulated foot, which allows flexion at the  heel strike. We prefer to use the 1B02 Protéor ® foot for its simplicity and reliability, and the 1G9 Otto Bock ® foot for its light weight.

The SACH foot, a one-piece foot, with a hardness of heel which is possible to choose ,which, when one treads cushions the heel strike. The range of choice of Otto Bock feet ® meets our requirements for hardness, weight (the very light 1G5) and aesthetics (toes).

Classification

For France the different classification has been established in the laboratory, a certain number of feet have been accepted by French social security.

They were defined as:

  • Class I & Class II: Amputees whose walking perimeter constantly exceeds 500 meters, the speed is greater than or equal to 3 km/h, and who do not otherwise show severe associated disabilty.
  • Class III: Amputees walking quickly, ie with a walking speed greater than or equal to 4.5 km/h, and/or practicing a sport.

Quality control tests that were used to classify the material remain questionable, and our choices are made more with the benefit of our experience that allows us to appreciate  the dynamic qualitities ,the comfort and the reliability of the products.

We can offer each patient the foot that seems best suited to his/her type of amputation, the length of the stump, his/her activity, his/her age, his/her walking distance, his/her weight, and depending on the length of the socket
